Cleanable environment
Intent:
To reduce occupant exposure to pathogens on high-touch surfaces.
Carpeting on stairs is allowed, but only if the carpeting is removable. If carpet is not removable, it is not permitted on stairs. These kind of surfaces are exposed to extremely high traffic, so it is important for them to be cleaned properly.
The owner must provide compliant materials and cleanability requirements within the spaces they buildout. This may include tenant spaces if the owner provides these materials within tenant spaces.
