77. Olfactory comfort
Excessively strong or distinct odors can disrupt physical and psychological comfort, and even trigger allergic reactions, nausea and headaches. Limiting these odors is a simple strategy that can contribute greatly to occupant comfort and well-being.
This feature supports building policy that discourages strong smells from chemicals and fragrances. The feature strives to keep interior environments odorless.
Part 1: Handwashing Station Location
At least one sink, basin or plumbing fixture for washing meets the following:
a.68 Located within 30 m [100 ft] of all parts of regularly occupied floor space (minimum 1 per floor).
b.69 Where applicable, at least one handwashing station is located within each food preparation or kitchen area.
Part 2: Scent Control Policy
The following are banned from the project:
a. Air fresheners.
b. Scented candles.
c. Aromatherapy in rooms with more than two regular occupants.
d. Scented cleaning agents.
