Physical activity spaces
Physical activity spaces
To promote physical activity through complimentary access to on-site indoor and local outdoor physical activity spaces.
This dedicated exercise space may be outdoors (e.g., such as a terrace or courtyard) assuming it is still located on-site and is not double counted for both Parts 1 and 2. This applies regardless of project location and climate, but climate should be considered to ensure this space is usable for a majority of the year.
The room needs to be available at any time for occupants to come in and use for exercise in order to comply.
Yes, shared spaces (within 200m [656 ft] of the project boundary) may be used to comply with Part 1. Projects using shared spaces towards these feature requirements should consider all building occupants who have access to the space. If the population is unknown, default occupancy requirements may be considered in capacity calculations (found here).
